MICHELIN STARS REVEAL ENDURING APPETITE
FOR HOTELIER’S CANTONESE CUISINE IN SHANGHAI

Langham Hospitality Group wins awards for two Cantonese restaurants in China’s commercial capital, paving the way for its opening of a third in the city early next year

Hong Kong, 19 November 2024 – Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has once again demonstrated its Cantonese cuisine mastery in Shanghai, with T’ang Court at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi and Ming Court at Cordis, Shanghai, Hongqiao both securing one-star ratings in the MICHELIN Guide Shanghai 2025. The accolades, which mirror those gained by the restaurants in last year’s guide, are a testament to the continued success of LHG’s mission to disseminate world-class Cantonese fare, among others, through its global network of hotels. They also bolster the case for the company’s upcoming launch of a Ming Court at its newly opened Cordis, Shanghai, Seaworld hotel in the first quarter of next year.

“We are thrilled to see our Shanghai branches of T’ang Court and Ming Court recognised by the MICHELIN Guide,” LHG Chief Executive Officer Bob van den Oord said. “Our teams in the city continue to exemplify the dedication and artistry required to elevate Cantonese cuisine to the highest level, so I look forward to growing our related offering there through the upcoming Ming Court at Cordis, Shanghai, Seaworld.”

Outposts of the original T’ang Court and Ming Court in Hong Kong, the winning restaurants each offer a unique take on classic Cantonese cuisine.

At T’ang Court, the focus is on delivering fine dining experiences that emphasise using the highest quality ingredients. Under the leadership of Chef Tony Su, the restaurant presents dishes that blend timeless Cantonese recipes with meticulous attention to detail to create truly elevated gastronomic journeys.

Ming Court, meanwhile, adopts a more contemporary and family-friendly approach. Situated in a modern setting, it celebrates the use of locally grown and artisanal ingredients, offering warm and approachable dining encounters that highlight the depth and versatility of Cantonese cuisine.

The establishments are just two of numerous culinary outlets that exemplify LHG’s renowned food and beverage excellence, affirming the group’s commitment to delivering exceptional bar and restaurant experiences for its guests worldwide.
