We are devoted to reducing our environmental impact through innovation and responsible resource management, an imperative that has prompted us to fully align to the environment targets of the Great Eagle Group.
As we advance our planning, setting specific targets is crucial for measuring our progress and driving our climate ambitions.
In light of our review in 2024, we reaffirm the following targets:
Targets for water and waste management will be announced following our review in 2025, aiming to create impactful goals in these critical areas.
To ensure accountability and foster engagement, we have established dedicated taskforces to guide resource planning and monitor our progress. We are also enhancing our online ESG platform to ensure transparency and facilitate continuous improvement across the Group.
In addition to our environmental targets for energy, water, and waste, we are committed to implementing sustainable sourcing practices in key procurement categories by 2030, such as animal proteins (e.g., eggs), cleaning supplies, cocoa, paper products, seafood, and sugar. Furthermore, we have set a target to source 100% cage-free eggs by 2025. To help us achieve our targets, this includes prioritising suppliers with responsible environmental practices, ethical sourcing, and relevant certifications, guided by our Sustainable Sourcing Policy. Our suppliers are required to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, ensuring the suppliers we work with share the same principles and align with our sustainability goals.
As we are working towards our targets, we emphasise upskilling and awareness initiatives for sustainability to engage our colleagues and guests through the corporate sustainability programme CONNECT.
Every year we dedicate the time between Earth Hour and Earth Day to taking action for the good of our planet. From workshops and meatless meals to environmental volunteering, our hotels organise campaigns and activities to promote sustainability and inspire everyone to join in caring for the environment.
To equip our colleagues with an understanding of climate change’s impact and their roles in daily operations, we introduced the “Climate 101” training module, which is now mandatory for all. This module covers the current climate scenario, the correlation between climate change and greenhouse gases, and the proactive measures the Group is taking to combat and alleviate the effects of climate change.
